DJ & AUDIO GLOSSARY

Clean edit

A version of a track edited to remove explicit words or unsuitable material. Clean edits matter for family, corporate and formal events where explicit lyrics would be inappropriate.

Why it matters when you plan

Knowing Clean edit helps you brief energy, timing and transitions clearly, instead of leaving those choices to guesswork on the night.

How to use it in the brief

Say where Clean edit matters — which segment or moment.
Give an example the DJ can act on, not just the term.
Note any preference or boundary you already have.
