What matters most
Ask exactly what the deposit secures — the date, the named DJ, or just a place in a queue — and get it in writing.
Points to work through
- Confirm the balance schedule and accepted payment methods so nothing is due unexpectedly on the day.
- Ask which changes are allowed without penalty: date shifts, time changes, guest-count or scope adjustments.
- Understand the cancellation tiers — how much is refundable and by when — for both a client and a supplier cancellation.
- Ask what happens if the DJ cannot perform: substitute, full refund, or help finding a replacement.
- Get force-majeure and postponement terms in writing rather than relying on goodwill.
