PRACTICAL DJ DECISION GUIDE

Overtime clause checklist

Overtime clause checklist: compare scope, responsibilities and quotes on the same terms so the booking decision is easy to defend.

What matters most

Fix the scheduled finish time so overtime is measured against a clear point.

Points to work through

  • Agree the overtime rate and the smallest billable block up front.
  • Name who can authorise an extension on the night.
  • Confirm the venue’s own cut-off, which caps overtime regardless of budget.
  • Put all of it in writing so the last hour is never a surprise.
