What matters most
Decide first whether the DJ performs on a supplied system or brings and runs their own — the two are very different quotes.
Points to work through
- List every input the night needs: DJ playback, wireless microphones, a laptop for slides, and any live act.
- Assign each speaker, monitor and microphone to a named supplier so nothing is assumed on the day.
- For lighting, separate dance-floor lighting from stage or uplighting, and confirm who rigs, operates and removes it.
- Name who owns volume decisions and who responds if sound cuts out mid-event.
- Confirm the venue’s installed system and house limits before deciding what to bring.
