PRACTICAL DJ DECISION GUIDE

Venue speaker coverage checklist

Venue speaker coverage checklist: turn the room, power and signal path into a checked technical plan before anyone soundchecks.

What matters most

Match speaker count and placement to the room size and shape, not a fixed rig.

Points to work through

  • Cover the dance floor and seated areas without a loud spot right next to any table.
  • Raise speakers on stands so sound carries over heads instead of into the nearest guests.
  • For long or L-shaped rooms, plan fill speakers so far corners are not left thin.
  • Check the venue’s installed system first — it may cover speech but not a dance floor.
